Dixie L Hines

July 1, 1950 — March 6, 2016

Dixie L. Hines, 65 of Prospect, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 6, 2016, her death was unexpected. Dixie was born July 1, 1950 in Plain City, OH to the late Lewis and Mary Katherine (Landis) Hammond. She was married May 20, 2006 to Paul Hines who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers Pete Hammond, Ted Hammond and Bobby Herb, as well as 1 sister, Georgann Siders.
Dixie is also survived by children Paul Hines II and his wife Melissa; Trudy (Daniel) Sharp; and Joshua Bennett all of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister in law Diane Hammond of Columbus; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dixie attended Jonathon Alder H.S. in Plain City and moved to Prospect in 1978. For many years she worked at the Back Forty and Victory Inn in Prospect. She last worked at Verizon where she retired. Dixie was a member of the Richland Rd. Church of Christ and participated in the Angel Food Ministries at the church. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge #889 and the Prospect Am Legion Post 368 Ladies Aux. Dixie enjoyed camping at Riverbend Camp Ground. She loved her animals, especially her dogs, Tiny and Cuddles. She also loved to read, play bingo and make candles.
Traditional Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in the Richland Rd. Church of Christ with Rev. Matt Dahm officiating, burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Church or the American Cancer Society
