She was born on Nov. 1, 1947 in Marion to the late Leonard and Norma (Brown) Cole.
Mrs. Newell is survived by sons Kevin (Tonya) Tackett, Matthew (Kim) Newell and Douglas Newell, all of Marion, grandchildren Jesstine, Parker, Kyle and Conner, sisters Vicki (Larry) Burchett and Michelle Smith.
She was a Harding High School graduate. Mrs. Newell had worked as a customer service representative for Discover Card.
Cheryl passion was collecting genealogy. She was an avid reader and her greatest treasure was her family.
