Charles Herschel Hayhurst

Charles Herschel Hayhurst, Sr, 75 of Mt. Gilead went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 14, 2017 at the Woodside Nursing Home in Mt. Gilead following a lengthy illness. Charles was born October 10, 1941 in Chicago, IL to the late George John Hayhurst and Amy Rebecca (Perkins) Hayhurst. He was married August 25, 1960 to Avonell (Mollett) Hayhurst who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Charles H. Hayhurst Jr. and one grandchild.
Charles is also survived by sons James W. Hayhurst and Jeffrey A. Hayhurst; daughter Patty Coleman; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother Roy Hayhurst and sister Annie Sewell.
Charles was a truck driver for Kroger Co. as well as an owner operator for FABCO out to Columbus. He was a graduate of Whitehall Yearling High School.
Private family services will be held at a later date and memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Kindred Care Hospice of Marion. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio, Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
