Charles W. "Bill" Akers III

Charles W. “Bill” Akers III, 64 of Marion went to be with the Lord on Thursday September 21, 2017 at the Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Bill was born January 29, 1953 in Oakland California to the late Charles Akers Jr. and Sandra (Phelps) Akers who survives in Marion. He is also survived by children Charles W. Akers IV, Jason Akers, and Michelle Hammock of Alabama and Georgia; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; brother John Akers and sisters Deeanna Akers, Tracey Layne, and Beth Field, aunt Polly Akers Fischer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill moved from Marion several years ago and lived many years in Florida, he recently returned to Marion. While living in Florida he worked construction mostly building swimming pools.
