Carson Wayne Cantrell

Carson “Boney Wayne” Cantrell, age 71, passed away at Grady Hospital of Delaware Ohio, January 6, 2025. Wayne was born to Billy and Emma (Martin) Cantrell, February 28th, 1953, in Delaware, Ohio. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Cantrell; wife, Carol Cantrell; and nephew, Josh Cantrell.

Wayne is survived by son, Richard (Dawn) Cooke of Delaware and Kimberly (Buck) Maze of (Marion); father, Billy (Patricia) Cantrell; grandchildren, Michael, Brendan, Bryce, and McKenzie; brothers, Bryan (Becca) Cantrell and Mark (Cheryl) Cantrell; as well as 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, family in West Virginia and his pets that he loved dearly.

Wayne was a member of Eagles post 376 and Amvets Post 104. He worked as an electrician most of his life, was self-employed and would find any home projects or ways to be helpful; he was a very hands-on person. He loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes sports teams play. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping with family, going bowling, and playing basketball. Wayne also assisted in the Senior Companion program, where he would go and visit other people and be a helping and listening ear.
