Carroll L. “Sam” Sampson age 72 of Lima, died on Saturday June 29, 2019 at Lost Creek Nursing Home.
He was born on August 21, 1946 to the late Lloyd and Ivy (Sloan) Sampson. He was married to Beverly Ann Sampson and she preceded him in death. He is survived by his children Sabrina (Jason) Hickman, Marion, James (Karen Cole) Sampson, Galion, Janice (Greg) Sampson Miller, Marion and Jessica Sampson, Galion, 14 grandchildren, Brittany Hickman, Joshua Hickman, Ashley Hickman, Megan Hickman, Kristopher Schwartz, Miranda Sampson, Sage Brown, Ashley Brown, Cathline Sampson, Mary Catherine, Stephanie, Isabella and Hazel. He is preceded in death by his brother Clifford Sampson and a grandchild Hailey Hickman.
Carroll was an Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Red Cab as a driver after 30 plus years of service. He was a member of the Moose and American Legion Post 584 of Marion. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and socializing with friends. Carroll also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Sawyer-Ludwig Park, Marion, OH at 2:00 p.m. on Sat. July 6, 2019.
