Caroline Florence Hayes

Caroline Hayes of Kenton, Ohio, formerly of Milford and Ansonia, Connecticut, died Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. She is survived by her adult children. Sons, SFC Thomas O. Hayes of Spring Lake, North Carolina, and Phillip Rivera of Richwood, Ohio, as well as a daughter, Shannon Hayes of Kenton, Ohio. Caroline was married to Gordon Hayes, also of Connecticut roots, for nearly forty years before his passing in 2016, leaving her widowed, thus resulting in her eventual relocation to Ohio to be closer to family. Carol (as she preferred to be called) spent her life in service to others as a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than twenty years at Pond Point Health Care Center in Milford, Connecticut. She was devoted to her patients and their care right up until the facility closed in 2003.

Having since retired, she spent her time with her furbabies and new friends, while trying to take care of her declining health. We hope that she finds her peace and ask that in the spirit of her love for animals and for women’s rights, in lieu of flowers, you please make a donation to your local animal shelters, RAINN, or the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. As she was a survivor of abuse, we hope that, in this way, her passion for advocacy may continue.
