C. Kelly Shelton

C. Kelly Shelton, loved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, 81 of Marion passed away on Monday December 12, 2016 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness. Kelly was born Aug. 5, 1935 in Hardy, KY to the late George C. and Nellie G. (McGlothlin) Shelton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers G. Howard and Eddie C. Shelton as well as sisters Freda J. Womack; Ellouise Knutson; Agnes Sellards; Mary Lois Hicks; and Glada Bull.
Kelly is survived by children Christopher Kelly Shelton of Melbourne, FL and Elizabeth A. McKenzie of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; Christopher and Beth's mother Patricia L. (Cook) Shelton; grandchildren Tristan C. K. Shelton, Tara Tasanee Shelton, Caitlin Jane Shelton, and Mayalynn A. McKenzie; brothers Dennis (Bette) Shelton of Harbor Springs, MI and Rick (Haven) Shelton of Marion; sisters Clay Burns of Fort Thomas KY and Judy (Robert) Lehner of Marion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kelly graduated from Marion Harding H.S. in 1953 and lived most of his life in Marion. He worked in banking and finance with both National City Bank and Fahey Bank in Marion for several years. Kelly was a Veteran of the Air National Guard, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Shrine and Marion Masonic Lodge.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 S. Prospect St., Marion with Rev. Jonathan Bull, Kelly’s nephew, officiating. A 10:00am calling hour preceeds the 11:00 am service in the sanctuary. Luncheon will immediate follow on premises. The family requests memorials be in the form of contributions to The Women of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.cremationservicesofohio.com .
