Brenda L Smith

Brenda L (Hakes) Smith, age 70 of Marion, OH passed away February 6, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born February 6, 1954, to the late Ronald Penn and Marilyn (Hakes) Baker in Greenfield, OH. Brenda was married to William Glenn Smith.
Brenda is survived by children: Dawn (Craig) Cardwell of Mt. Gilead, Richard Smith of Galion, Brent Hakes of Marion, Jason Smith of Marion, Steven Smith of Marion, John (Melissa) Smith of Lorain, and Glenda (Jimmy) Gonzales of Lorain, numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, siblings: Dan Penn, Rhonda (Darrell) Myers, Paula (Mark) Scott, Tim (Jenny) Penn, Julia/Dude (Larry) Satterfield, Darren (Missy) Penn, Carroll Baker, and Misty Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Ronald Smith and Donald Smith, and special friend Timothy Crabtree.
Brenda was a Manager at Ponderosa Steakhouse. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to Casinos to gamble. Brenda loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life March 2, 2024, at The Village Gathering Place, 30 S Main St. Mt. Gilead, OH 43338, 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to children’s hospitals.
