Bonnie Sue Blankenship, born on August 1, 1947, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away in Marion, Ohio, on February 6, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who dedicated her life to serving others.
Bonnie enjoyed a distinguished career as a nurse's aid at Marion Manor, where she selflessly served for 37 years, providing care and compassion to countless patients. Her dedication to her work exemplified her nurturing spirit and commitment to helping those in need.
As a member of the Richland Road Church of Christ, Bonnie found joy and connection within her faith community. In addition to her professional life, she reveled in her personal passions. She cherished working in her garden, found happiness in crafting, and took great delight in cooking for her family. Additionally, Bonnie was an enthusiastic supporter of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, proudly cheering from the sidelines. Her heart was also devoted to the Ohio State University Buckeyes, reflecting her spirited personality.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, John Blankenship; her son, Brian Blankenship; and her son Jordan (Maria) Blankenship. She was a proud grandmother to Madison "Madi" Blankenship, Layla Blankenship, Lucas Blankenship, and Logan Blankenship. Her siblings, John Collins, Ben Collins, Martha "Louise" Collins, and Cathy (John) Athey will forever cherish her memory, along with her sisters-in-law Ilene Collins, Wanda Collins, Kay Collins and Cheryl Collins. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her several nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Collins; her mother, Mildred (Jordan) Collins; her brothers Woodrow, Glenn, and Stanley Collins; her sister-in-law Debbie Collins; and her grandson Wyatt Blankenship.
A graveside service to honor Bonnie's life will be held on February 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Matt Dahm officiating. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering support that will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew her.
