Billy Ray Smith

Billy Ray Smith age 84 of Marion, died at Marion General Hospital on Monday Sept. 6, 2021. He was born Mar. 7, 1937 in Ironton to Elbert and Vesta (Lemaster) Smith. He married Alice Smith, she preceded him in death on Mar. 3, 2021.

Surviving are sons Nick (Debbie) Haubert, J.D. Smith, daughters Diane Lemaster, Vickie (Hobie) Grady, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother Jack (Debbie) Smith and a sister Delores Jett. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Randall Lee Smith and Mark Allen Smith, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

He was a member of Espyville Community Baptist Church. Billy was a diesel mechanic with the CSX Railroad. He enjoyed his church, fishing, camping and doing yard work.

A funeral service will be held on Sept. 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Espyville Community Baptist Church 805 Espyville Rd. N. Marion, OH 43302 with Pastor Herb Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. before time of services at the church.
