Allen B. Cooper Jr.

July 30, 1946 — November 6, 2019

Allen B. Cooper Jr., of Marion peacefully took the Masters Hand on November 6, 2019, surrounded by loved ones.

Allen was born July 30th, 1946 in Marion, Ohio, to Allen B. Cooper Sr. and Blanche (Strohl) Cooper. He attended Pleasant High School playing offense and defense on the very first football team of the school. He ran track and field receiving many honors for his sport achievements. After graduating Pleasant High School in 1964, he pursued a career in banking.

After 41 yeas in the banking profession], he retired in May, 2010 as VP/Branch Manager of JP Morgan Chase Bank in Mount Gilead, Ohio. Ready to move on to a new chapter in life with his Fiance, Pam Lupica, and little furbaby Bailey, they moved to Fort Myers Beach, Florida, returning to Marion years later.

Allen was “Mr. Fix-It and loved the challenge of repairing the unrepairable. His passion was to tear down and remodel anything in his path. Quite the prankster with a fun loving spirit and a generous heart. His laughter was contagious and he lived life to the fullest, whether it be climbing a coconut tree, fishing, or just enjoying the outdoors. An OSU football game, with remote in hand, was his favorite Saturday.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He was proud to serve in the US Army from Sept. 10, 1966 thru Sept. 22, 1971. He was also on the board of the Historical Society of Galion, Ohio, while living there.

His passing will leave a void in the lives of his daughters, Tricia (Michael) Bodine and Tara (Nathan Noblit) Cooper, his precious granddaughter, Cora Bodine and his love Pam.

Richard and Janet Beck along with Tami and Joe McCoy loved Allan as family and share in the loss of such a special man.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of any flowers, the family request that donations be made to Capital City Hospice, Columbus, Ohio or the Marion County Humane Society in his behalf. Affordable Cremation & Funeral Services of Ohio were entrusted with the arrangements.
