Alan C Mercer

Alan C. Mercer age 72 of Mt. Gilead died Mon. September 30, 2019 at Marion General Hospital. He was born January 19, 1947 in Columbus to the late Myrel & Roberta (Heinz) Mercer. He married Carolyn Dean on October 16, 1964 and she survives in Mt. Gilead.

Mr. Mercer is survived by his children Marie (Bo) Grimmett, Cardington, Tina (Brian) Howell, Blue Rock, Scott Mercer, Whitehall, Jennifer (Dennis) Barber, Pickerington, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

He was employed as a fabricator and was a member of Amvets, Mt. Gilead. Alan was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and playing cards.

A Memorial Service will be Sat. October 5, 2019 at Amvets, Mt. Gilead from 12-2 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at Marie Grimmett's house in Cardington.
