David Lawrence Wingate

David Lawrence Wingate Sr., 73 of Marion passed away at home on Sunday November 19, 2023. David was born June 7, 1950 in Columbus, OH to the late Otis Oakley Wingate and Mary Adel (Bon) Wingate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Cindy Ellen Cleavenger Wingate on June 7, 2003, son Christopher Michael Wingate and brother Peanut Wingate.

David is survived by children David Wingate Jr., Tammy Lynn Adkins, Samantha Adell Lawrence, Timothy David Wingate, and Thomas Otis Wingate; grandchildren Dillinger and Aailyah Adkins, William Otis and Sidney Marie Quick, Jennifer Jeri Joyce Williams, Katlin Marie Swartz, and Mackenzie Wingate; great grandchildren Wyatt Damien Michael Williams and Rhylee Williams; brother Roger Michael Wingate; and Aunt Paulette Fisher.

David was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a mechanic. He lived in the counties of Marion, Morrow, and Delaware as well as Indian Lake, the Bellefontaine area and Mt. Victory, OH. David loved people and simply enjoyed smoking his cigarettes and listening to music “oldies but goodies”.
